One... is the loneliest number...not.

I've never been much of a solo-cinemacist and always thought that lone popcorn munchers were potentially depraved and kept their grannies in cupboards beneath the basement stairs.

Saturday night, and while I don't have a subscription to Hentai Hotties Tentacle Love Weekly, I found myself solitaire, holding hands with Pop Corn and sucking on Slush Puppy, as I merged into my seat to watch Confetti (brit-brilliant mockumentary about three couples vying to win The Most Original Wedding. My favourites were the naturists who wanted to exchange their vows kaalgat-tussen-die-tulpe*) .

And suddenly I realise, I'm really good company.

..and you didn't have to share your popcorn with someone else's annoying hands .. sounds good to me :)

welcome to the solo-rolo club!!! I ALWAYS go to the movies, (at least once in two weeks) .. the experience is liberating, refreshing and you will soon realise that you are the best person to share a joke with, and you can laugh/cry in the movie without worrying about what comapny that you have come with may think of you.. I have become so used it going solo, that even if i do go for a movie with my family, I choose a different movie from them, just for the fun of sitting with my own box of popcorn, coke, and the packet of whispers all to myself... (its also always the case, that i have watched the movie that they are going for already!!!)

I do the movies alone thing quite often. No one else wants to go to Noveau EVER, blaaaaahnians obviously.

And I can go into a bookshop for as long as I want to without people hurrying me up. Congrats saaleha

Great when you love spending time with the person you spend most of your time with- yourself! I must advise a solo trip: with just a backpack and a lonely planet, your view of the world will change! And do it now, while you young, wild and free:-) if you are still young:-P

Gosh! You never ever mentioned that you thought I was some sorta freak for going to the movies by myself. Anyhoo, now that you’ve sampled it, there’s no going back! Welcome to the soloist club…fellow freak!

OK cool. So I'm not the only one to do the solo thing. Honestly, it's far simpler to watch a movie by yourself than to can find a date, time and movie to suit the rest of the gang. You'd be amazed by the logistics involved!

What sucks is when the ticket-sellers ask where your partner is.

congratulations, i've been going alone to the movies for years! when they ask where your partner is, ask them if its their ****ing business?

Reminds me of the woody allen quote:

" dont knock mastubations, its sex with someone i love"

sorry couldnt resist

my this is a little bit late.

Hentai tentacles, interesting.

Reminds me of myself back in the day...(the solo movie thing, not the hentai tentacle thing...hehe) skipping school to go to Eastgate, pay for one movie and watch three... consecutively and then take a leisurely stroll back home.

What i like about it is you got your thoughts to yourself and don't have to really worry about anyone else. :)

as Ruby said welcome to the club!, As Woody allen said... Whatever you do, do it with someone you love :)

I disagree with all the bloggers that mentioned that solo is better than company.

If any of you have gone to the movies, taken a walk, did any activity ... etc etc with one or more people you would know that the joy of sharing everything is more satisfying than doing any activity solo.

We are creatures of affection. We thrive on this quality.

*company satisfaction is usually achived if the people you hang out with are true friends instead of false ones*

Profane. Profound. What's your poison?
